It’s a scenic but winding drive up from KL or Ipoh, and there’s no airport, so plan road transfers. Buses run from both cities if you’d rather not drive. A hired driver or small-group tour is the easiest way to link the scattered farms and viewpoints. Roads are narrow, so allow more time than the distance suggests. Knowing how to move around here is most of the battle on a short stay.

The highlands are pleasant year-round, and weekdays dodge the domestic-tourist crowds. Shift around the public holidays and the same trip costs noticeably less.
